Abstract

Modeling is one of the main tasks in engineering in order to predict the behaviour and response of assemblies or structures. This contribution is aimed at modeling in structural mechanics and analysis. Due to the necessity to use numerical methods for the solution of complex equations stemming from theoretical models a verification strategy is of utmost interest. This can be based on simplified models that are able to capture the essential behaviour of a complex structure.
